Positionstack is a geocoding API that converts plain-text addresses or place names into coordinates (forward geocoding) and coordinates back into addresses (reverse geocoding). Results include parsed address components, confidence scores, an embeddable map URL, plus country, timezone, and sun (sunrise/sunset) modules. Responses are available in JSON, XML, or GeoJSON over HTTPS. Data is sourced from Nominatim, GeoNames, Pelias, and OpenStreetMap and updated multiple times per day. Positionstack is part of the APILayer suite.
