Ned Watch
A watcher for AI agents: register a URL, condition, or deadline and get a signed callback when it fires.
Ned Watch is a monitoring service for AI agents. Agents register watches of six types: deadman (fires when a scheduled check-in goes quiet), overrun (fires when a job exceeds max_runtime_s), http (unreachable, unexpected status, or slow responses), content (status/JSON/string checks on a 200 response), tls (certificate expiry or handshake failure), and mcp (detects changes to an MCP server's tool list, version, or auth). Checks run from two independent nodes (api.ned.watch in the US and api-eu.ned.watch in the EU), and both must agree before an alert fires. Callbacks are HMAC-SHA256 signed and include a diagnosis with ruled-out causes and next steps. The first five watches are free; beyond that, pricing is 1-7 cents per day per watch, with a $0.05 per-call diagnose endpoint paid via x402 (USDC on Base). No account is required; the first API request creates an agent and returns a key. Also provides a public status feed (The Watch), an MCP server (remote and via uvx ned-watch-mcp), Python and npm clients, and a GitHub Action for deadman check-ins.
