MailCatcher is a Ruby gem that runs a simple SMTP server (default smtp://127.0.0.1:1025) which catches any message sent to it and displays it in a web interface at http://127.0.0.1:1080. It shows HTML, plain text, and source versions of messages, lists attachments for separate download, supports instant updates via WebSockets, runs as a daemon, and exposes a RESTful JSON API for retrieving messages. Includes a catchmail sendmail-analogue command for PHP integration.
