GitDiagram

Turn any GitHub repository into an interactive architecture diagram or a one-minute explainer video.

Visit gitdiagram.com →DocsSource

GitDiagram generates an interactive architecture diagram of any GitHub repository. Replace 'hub' with 'diagram' in a GitHub URL (github.com/{owner}/{repo} becomes gitdiagram.com/{owner}/{repo}) to view a diagram built by an AI model from the repository's file tree, README, and up to 12 source files. Diagrams include a written overview, a Mermaid-compiled graph of up to 34 grouped components with labeled connections, and links from each component to its file or folder on GitHub. Diagrams are stored and shared; repositories without a stored diagram take about a minute to process in the browser. Private repositories require the owner's GitHub token. Diagram content is also available as Markdown at https://gitdiagram.com/{owner}/{repo}.md, and a read-only MCP server at https://gitdiagram.com/mcp exposes tools for fetching diagrams, finding stored diagrams, and getting explainer videos. The project is open source.
